This is my very first full body scuplture! Not bad even if I do say so myself. This one was done using the DAS air-dry clay, and painted with metalic acrylic. It is roughly 11 inches tall, 12 inches long, and 11.5 inches wide.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. Right. you just have to remember that while the thinker the clay the stronger the finished piece will be, the longer it'll take to dry. I have found that using the same techniques of wire armature skeleton and foil bulking for the "muscle" works just as well with the air dry as for polymer. The clay "skin" is still about a 1/4 inch thick so it's fairly strong.
And yes... you'll be seeing a lot more full body sculptures as well as the busts.
